Lewisohn butcher block is manufactured from kiln-dried, Appalachian hardwood, primarily Red and White Oak. Our butcher block is used in the furniture and interior remodeling trades for tables, desks, benches, counter tops, and quality interior-space flooring.
It is recommended for use in any situation in which durability, longevity, strength, and easy upkeep are essential. Some applications include construction of homes, hospitals, museums, malls, hotels, religious institutions, and convention centers.
Our butcher block is produced at our own plant, Rad Woodwork Co., in Nescopeck PA. Nescopeck is in the Wilkes-Barre region of Eastern PA, at I-80 and near I-81. Our Rad Woodwork facility has a kiln capacity of over 200,000 feet, and is equipped for high volume, efficient production of high quality laminated hardwood.
We assemble our butcher block from selected, edge-grained, face-glued
7/8" strips which are hook-lock jointed together and electronically
cured, to achieve maximum bonding strength. The assembled block is then
cut into boards, to your specifications, fine-planed and delivered to you,
ready for finishing and installation. Delamination of our butcher block is virtually unknown.
We offer our product to furniture makers in rectangles in a wide range of dimensions up to 36 inches in width. At our North Bergen NJ warehouse, we offer free next-day delivery to the greater NYC Metro area, for an order of $200 or more. If you are outside the area, we can ship the tabletop(s) to you F.O.B. North Bergen.
Please remember, our tabletops are unfinished. They are shown above after they have been finished. Lewisohn's laminated hardwood is also used for Truck, Trailer, and Container Flooring.
